This is a perfect location for first time Lisbon explorer. The hotel is self is located right in the heart of all the good tourist spots in Lisbon, with everything being walking distance away. It’s clean, cozy, and yet feeling so private. It feels more like a holiday house than your traditional/ impersonal hotel. The staffs at the hotel are exceedingly lovely and helpful. I must comment on the hotel breakfast. Whilst some reviews note the breakfast to be limited, we have the opposite experience. We found the breakfast to be excellent! It has reasonable variety. Most importantly, each item was of high quality. For example, they provided home made yogurt, homemade pastry and freshly cut fruit salad each morning, in addition to other buffet options. We have found the quality of breakfast to be better than other 5 stars hotels we’ve stayed in. I highly recommend this hotel and cannot wait to come back again!

Great location for exploring Lisbon. Walking distance to lots of sights nearby. Room size was very big with plenty of space to relax. The breakfast area downstairs was fabulous, oozing with character. All the food was of a high quality and eggs were cooked to order. The area itself is quite compact, however, so when the hotel is busy there are occasions when a table is not available. Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had an issue with lost luggage on arrival in Lisbon and the staff were so obliging in helping us liaise with the airport and getting our luggage delivered to the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights a Alecrim au Chiado.

A truly beautiful boutique hotel Large comfortable room, beds, pillows, decor, cleanliness, ambiance. Perfect location to walk downhill to the train station or a short walk to the little tram stop Delicious breakfast with eggs cooked to order & friendly ladies in the kitchen The standout for us was the genuine care & helpfulness extended to us by Victor, Goncalo & Claudia. Ask them anything & they are so willing to help with recommendations for places to visit, how to get there, places to eat & all proved to be excellent suggestions We saw so much in such a short amount of time & all thanks to their wonderful help

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here for a few days in December. The staff are exceptionally helpful, speak great English and have an excellent knowledge of the local area. The hotel is tasteful and cleaned every day to a high standard with extras in our suite room such as a coffee machine, water and bathrobes. Bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection of cereals, breads, meat, cheese, fruit and pastries. Eggs are also offered, cooked to your taste each day. The interior of the whole building is so interesting and I loved the Christmas decorations and artefacts on display.

Alecrim ao Chiado (Once upon a House) is just fabulous. We stayed for our 20th Wedding anniversary and they couldn't have done more. The hotel is boutique, but the service was perfect, from the reception, breakfast service and room service, we really can't fault a thing. The location was great, off the main squares so a little quieter, but perfect to find all the attractions whether you want to walk, tram or taxi. (Really close to Pink Street and the Tigris River)
